ORCUTT UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT

EMAIL HOAX

Orcutt, CA - Today, Alice Shaw School was one of multiple businesses and institutions across the nation that received what has been confirmed to be a hoax bomb threat sent in an email.

Upon receiving the email, the Principal, Ms. Severance, notified the district office who immediately engaged local law enforcement. The FBI is investigating these threats, which were reported to have been sent to schools, businesses and universities across the nation.  While we were certain this was a hoax, we followed our safety protocols and engaged the support of law enforcement.

Superintendent, Dr. Debbie Blow stated “It saddens me to think that we live in a time when technology can be abused to scare, threaten and worry others, but from time to time this does happen. We will always strive to keep our staff and students as safe as humanly possible.”
